The University of Chicago is committed to providing health promotion and wellness programs that will enhance the general well-being and quality of life for its employees.
These programs also assist in the recruitment and retention of faculty and staff and complement the current academic enrichment initiatives that are committed to excellence and to maintaining the University of Chicago's leadership role in higher education.
Wellness & Health Promotion Resources
Benefits and Health Fair
The University of Chicago sponsors an annual Benefits and Health Fair as part of the open enrollment activities each fall. The majority of the University's benefit vendors participate in this event and employees who attend are able to have their individual questions answered directly from plan representatives.
- A flu vaccination clinic is also part of this annual event.
- Blood pressure and other screenings are typically available during the fair.

Flu vaccination clinics are held each fall for faculty and staff of the University.
Wellness and Health Promotion Programs
All faculty and staff can access and utilize the various resources that the University offers through the five active health plans. However, for full Wellness and Health Promotion services with each of the health plan vendors, only plan members can access the full range of services offered.
For example, if you are a Maroon Plan member or HMOIL plan member, you will need to use your Blue Cross Blue Shield health plan card information to log on to the full services offered for Wellness and Health Promotion programs.

Maroon Plan, Maroon Savings Choice Plan, HMO Illinois and the Retiree Medical Plan
Access to the basic resources is available for all employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. However access to the Blue Care Connection and Blue Access is limited to plan members. At this web site you will find valuable resources regarding the following sections;
